Wow. I remember you telling me about this as we looked out over Chicago from the Hancock Tower, but I never imagined it would be so pretty! I've always been a bit of a book fetishist too - I love particular types of paper and fonts - and if I am looking for a book on the shelf I know what its binding looks like and that helps me locate it quickly, but I've never considered ordering them by appearance. Then again, I have a half dozen huge bookshelves and hate to think of not having them arranged by subject so that I know where to begin ... Your sense of order seems so less controlling than mine and I'm jealous ;) Posted by: Anne at June 19, 2003 02:31 PM
PS - thanks for not forgetting how to spell "colour" after all those years across the border ;) Posted by: Anne at June 19, 2003 02:32 PM
I forgot how pretty it all is! I still don't understand how you can find your books though... but I guess having a pretty office is just as nice. Posted by: Susie at June 19, 2003 09:18 PM
Seeing your shelves made me smile to think of you. Thanks. Posted by: Jane Ellen at June 19, 2003 10:30 PM
Well I've looked via 4 different browsers and still no picture. Damn! Posted by: Paul W. Swansen at June 20, 2003 08:49 AM
A little URL massaging tells me the photo is at http://limature.disseminary.org/books.jpg , while the published link is to /archive. Nice effect, though! Posted by: des at June 20, 2003 11:04 AM
